Here are the best Starbrand decks in Marvel Snap.

How Starbrand Works in Marvel Snap

Starbrand is a 3-cost, 10-power card with an ability that reads: “Ongoing: Your opponent has +3 Power at each other location.”

This isn’t an effect like Mister Fantastic that only affects adjacent locations – Starbrand will award the power to the location it’s not in. As an Ongoing card, most decks using Starbrand will look to mitigate this effect with the likes of Zero, Sauron, and Enchantress.

Starbrand is hard countered by Shang-Chi alone and combos incredibly well with the likes of Surtur; however, at the 3 cost slot, he’s a bit awkward to fit into a lot of decks as you’ll want to play Surtur or Sauron instead.

Best Day One Starbrand Decks in Marvel Snap

Starbrand has a couple ready-made shells that he fits into quite well: Shuri Sauron and Surtur. While the former has fallen out of the meta for a while now, let’s take a look and see if Starbrand has what it takes to revitalize the classic deck:

  • Zabu
  • Zero
  • Armor
  • Lizard
  • Sauron
  • Starbrand
  • Shuri
  • Ares
  • Enchantress
  • Typhoid Mary
  • Red Skull
  • Taskmaster

Click here to copy this list from Untapped.

This is a very inexpensive deck with only Ares as a Series 5 card; however, you can easily swap him out for Vision. As this deck leans into Zabu’s ability, he’s a slightly better choice than the classic move card.

If you’ve been Marvel Snapping for a while now you likely know how this deck plays; if not, it’s pretty straightforward: remove the negative effects of your Ongoing cards with Zero, Sauron, and Enchantress, buff up another lane with Shuri into something like Red Skull, and claim a final location by copying that massive power stat with Taskmaster.

Traditionally, this list ran Ebony Maw in place of Zabu, but given Taskmaster’s nerf to 6 cost, it’s much harder to slam them both down on the final turn. Instead, Zabu gives you the option to play Shuri alongside Starbrand or Ares on the final turns of the game, providing some surprise power spikes.

Since you’re going so tall with Shuri into Starbrand, his +3 power to your opponent’s locations isn’t as big of a drawback; however, you can always cancel it out with Enchantress right after playing him – and hopefully hit an opponent’s Ongoing card.

With the recent nerf to Aero and Skaar, Surtur makes a great home for Starbrand. Let’s take a look:

  • Zabu
  • Zero
  • Armor
  • Sam Wilson Captain America
  • Cosmo
  • Surtur
  • Starbrand
  • Ares
  • Attuma
  • Crossbones
  • Cull Obsidian
  • Skaar

Click here to copy this list from Untapped.

This is an expensive list with four Series 5 cards. Sam Wilson and Cull Obsidian are a synergistic package, while Surtur and Ares make the deck work at a high level. You’ll want them all.

With the addition of Starbrand, it’s now possible to get Skaar down to 1 cost on curve by playing Starbrand into two of Ares, Attuma, and Crossbones on turns 4 and 5. Zero makes this to mitigate the downsides of both Starbrand and Attuma, but even if you don’t weave Zero in seamlessly, he’s a great final turn play alongside your other cards and doesn’t have too much of a negative effect on the rest of the deck. Indeed, Crossbones, Cull Obsidian, and Skaar don’t care if you play Zero first – just be careful not to nuke your own Surtur or Aeres.

The difficulty with this deck will be knowing when to play Starbrand. You definitely want to play Surtur out first and hold Starbrand for perhaps the final turn alongside a Zero and Skaar, though that will not always be possible. As such, it’ll take a bit of trial and error to get Starbrand working well in this tried-and-true shell.

Should You Use Spotlight Cache Keys or Collector’s Tokens on Starbrand?

Starbrand is very much a “wait and see” card, as we’ve just gotten huge power spikes in the meta with the additions of Agamotto and Eson. Shuri Sauron may very well not be able to keep up no matter how good Starbrand is, and with the recent hits to Aero and Skaar, it remains to be seen whether or not Surtur decks have a place in this meta. Give it a few days to see how things shake out if you have the resources for this latest Hulk-like addition.

And those are the best Starbrand decks in Marvel Snap.

Marvel Snap is available to play now.

Chrollo’s next big hit is up with a trailer, release date, and periodical public playtest. Here’s everything you need to know about the Basketball Rivals release date.

Basketball Rivals Release Date Trailer

Basketball Rivals will officially be releasing on March 14, 2025 at 5PM EST. The news came with the long awaited trailer for the game which you can check out below. I highly recommend checking out the official event page created for the release. There you can track all the information and any date or timeframe changes that might occur last-minute.

Basketball Rivals Release Trailer

Below you’ll find the release trailer and it’s HYPE. The trailer showcases some of the styles from the game like Aomine Daiki’s dribbling and scoring as well as Shintaro Midorima’s full court shot. Testers will be familiar with all the styles but this is a chance for newcomers to the game to get a glimpse of all the abilities you can unlock.

Basketball Rivals Public Playtest – Prerelease

Stay tuned to the Basketball Rivals game page and Discord server for the prerelease public playtest. Essentially, Chrollo will set the game to Public before the official release for 30 minutes every time the Release Event page reaches 20,000 Interested people. So the game will be Public for 30 Minutes at 20k, 40k, 60k interested members, etc. Don’t miss out your chance to jump into the game before launch. I don’t recommend buying anything with Robux however since it won’t be saved for the launch.

Official Basketball Rivals Trello

Currently in the prerelease phase, there isn’t a Basketball Rivals Trello. However, Chrollo has confirmed that there will be an official Trello board for the game once it launches. There you can check out all the different customization options you can get and roll for. It will follow a similar format like Blue Lock Rivals with each main character from Kuroko’s Basket getting a style.

That’s all you need to know for the Basketball Rivals release date. Until then, check out our Basketball Rivals codes to prepare for the game.

Best Agamotto Decks in Marvel Snap https://www.escapistmagazine.com/best-agamotto-decks-in-marvel-snap/ https://www.escapistmagazine.com/best-agamotto-decks-in-marvel-snap/#disqus_thread Tue, 04 Mar 2025 12:58:02 +0000 https://www.escapistmagazine.com/?p=1005198 Marvel Snap is going back in time with the Prehistoric Avengers season. The Season Pass card – and most likely the most powerful – is Agamotto, an ancient sorcerer associated with Doctor Strange. Here are the best Agamotto decks in Marvel Snap.

How Agamotto Works in Marvel Snap

Agamotto is a 5-cost, 10-power card with an ability that reads: “Game Start: Shuffle 4 Ancient Arcana into your deck.”

The Ancient Arcana shuffled into your deck are the following:

  • Temporal Manipulation: A 1-cost card with an ability that reads: “On Reveal: Give Agamotto +3 Power. Put him into your hand if he’s not in play. (Banish this.)”
  • Wombs of Watoomb: A 2-cost card with an ability that reads: “On Reveal: Afflict an enemy card here with -5 Power and move it right. (Banish this.)”
  • Bolts of Balthakk: A 3-cost card with an ability that reads: “On Reveal: Next turn, you get +4 Energy. (Banish this.)”
  • Images of Ikonn: A 4-cost card with an ability that reads: “On Reveal: Transform your other cards here into copies of the highest-Power one. (Banish this.)”

You may notice two things with the Ancient Arcana: they do not have a Power cost and they have a new keyword, Banish, written on them.

Without a Power cost, the Ancient Arcana are classified as Skill cards and not character cards, thus the lack of power. They’re played to the board and “banished” after being played, meaning they do not enter the discard or destroy piles. They cannot be brought back into play.

As such, you can combo the Ancient Arcana with Wong but cannot trigger them with Odin. Furthermore, cards like King Etri won’t pull Agamotto and Ravonna Renslayer won’t discount their cost. Mister Negative won’t work, either.

With so many different effects with these Ancient Arcana, it’s difficult to place him squarely into one archetype because he dilutes a deck, thus making it difficult to pull off specific gameplans.

Best Day One Agamotto Decks in Marvel Snap

Agamotto is very likely going to form his own archetype, but that may take a week or two for it to form. For my money, I see him slotting very well into two different types of decks: Wiccan Control and Push Scream. Here’s the former:

  • Quicksilver
  • Hydra Bob
  • Hawkeye Kate Bishop
  • Iron Patriot
  • Sam Wilson Captain America
  • Cassandra Nova
  • Rocket Raccoon and Groot
  • Copycat
  • Galacta
  • Wiccan
  • Agamotto
  • Alioth

Click here to copy this list from Untapped.

This is an expensive list with several Series 5 cards. In fact, the only non-Series 5 card is Quicksilver, so if you haven’t kept up with season passes this deck might not be for you. That said, almost all cards in this list aside from Galacta, Wiccan, and Agamotto can be swapped for similar cards of the same cost.

Typically, you wouldn’t want to dilute a deck with Wiccan in it to ensure you find him by turn 4, but Bolts of Balthakk gives you +4 energy the turn after you play it, allowing you to still have an end-game flourish even if you miss on Wiccan.

The other Ancient Arcana synergize with this deck well. Temporal Manipulation pulls Agamotto out of your deck early to give you a higher chance at hitting other spells. Wombs of Watoomb is simply a great disruption play. Images of Ikonn doubles up your most powerful card in a location, meaning you can repeat Cassandra Nova’s effect several times, trigger Wiccan’s energy buff several times, or – the best option – get several Galacta on the board to massively power up the last two lanes.

Expect Cassandra Nova to see some bonus play as Eson, the other card released alongside Agamotto, fits well into Arishem decks.

Last month’s best deck, Scream Push, isn’t a bad spot for Agamotto either. Let’s take a look:

  • Hydra Bob
  • Scream
  • Iron Patriot
  • Kraven
  • Sam Wilson Captain America
  • Spider-Man
  • Rocket Raccoon and Groot
  • Miles Morales Spider-Man
  • Stegron
  • Cannonball
  • Agamotto

Click here to copy this list from Untapped.

This is also an expensive list, unfortunately. The Series 5 cards are: Hydra Bob, Scream, Iron Patriot, Sam Wilson, Rocket Raccoon and Groot, and Cannonball. Of these, you can replace Hydra bob with Nightcrawler and Iron Patriot with Jeff.

While only one card synergizes with Agamotto – Wombs of Watoomb – the others are simply great little additions. Temporal Manipulation turns Agamotto into a great turn 6 play, especially if you played Bolts of Balthakk the turn before. Images of Ikonn, however, are the star of the show: you can create several Screams, Spider-Mans, or Cannonballs to really wreak havoc on your opponent’s board.

Will Agamotto make this list better? I think it will make it far less predictable and give you an out against decks running Luke Cage and Shadow King – so in the right circumstances, yes.

Should You Buy the Prehistoric Avengers Season Pass?

Agamotto – if he doesn’t get nerfed – is a card at a similar level to Thanos or Arishem. He’ll be in and out of the meta, causing problems and I predict annoying players with how powerful certain synergies with him can be. As you should expect him to one day forge his own archetype, this is definitely a card you should grab if you have the space 9.99 USD.

And those are the best Agamotto decks in Marvel Snap.

Best Eson Decks in Marvel Snap https://www.escapistmagazine.com/best-eson-decks-in-marvel-snap/ https://www.escapistmagazine.com/best-eson-decks-in-marvel-snap/#disqus_thread Tue, 04 Mar 2025 12:49:36 +0000 https://www.escapistmagazine.com/?p=1005289 Prepare yourself because another Celestial like Arishem is joining Marvel Snap. However, Eson might not be as game defining as his protege. Here are the best Eson decks in Marvel Snap.

How Eson Works in Marvel Snap

Eson is a 6-cost, 10-power card with an ability that reads: “End of Turn: Put a created card from your hand here.”

A created card is one that is generated from something like White Queen or Arishem – in short, a card that didn’t start in your deck. This means that you can target Eson’s ability a little bit as it won’t pull cards that didn’t start in your deck to the board.

As you might’ve noticed, Eson is also a 6-cost card, so you’ll need help from ramp cards like Electro, Wave, and Luna Snow to cheat him out early enough to get great value from him.

The only direct counter to him – as Gorgon won’t really work – is to fill your opponent’s hand with cards they may not want, like rocks or Sentinels from Master Mold.

Best Day One Eson Decks in Marvel Snap

Eson is an Arishem card. You probably shouldn’t be playing one without the other, as Arishem means you can drop Eson on turn 5 and get two free pulls with him. Here’s the list:

  • Iron Patriot
  • Valentina
  • Luke Cage
  • Doom 2088
  • Shang-Chi
  • Enchantress
  • Galacta Daughter of Galactus
  • Legion
  • Doctor Doom
  • Mockingbird
  • Eson
  • Arishem

Click here to copy this list from Untapped.

The Series 5 cards in this list are Iron Patriot, Valentina, Doom 2099, Galacta Daughter of Galactus, Mockingbird, and Arishem. Due to the nature of Arishem, I’d say only Doom 2099 and Arishem are necessary for this list. You can swap a lot of different cards in, like Jeff, Agent Coulson, and Blob.

Eson essentially makes this list as an alternative lane winning condition if you don’t pull Mockingbird or randomly generate or find high power cards. You can save the cards generated by Arishem for after you play Eson on turn 5, giving you two turns to pull them out. And if you don’t have any pulls, you can skip playing Eson and drop Doctor Doom instead.

Do note that you don’t really want to play Eson for more than 3 turns, so getting him out on turn 5 is fine. Furthermore, he has anti-synergy with Doom 2099. As a result, you want to identify which game plan you’re going for before playing either.

Related: Best Redwing Decks in Marvel Snap

Finding another deck to fit Eson in is rather difficult; however, a hand-generation deck like the old Devil Dinosaur lists just might work – just without the Devil Dinosaur. Here’s a list:

  • Maria Hill
  • Quinjet
  • Iron Patriot
  • Peni Parker
  • Valentina
  • Victoria Hand
  • Agent Coulson
  • White Queen
  • Luna Snow
  • Wiccan
  • Mockingbird
  • Eson

Click here to copy this list from Untapped.

The Series 5 cards in this list are Iron Patriot, Peni Parker, Valentina, Victoria Hand, Luna Snow, Wiccan, and Mockingbird. Of these, you’ll want to have Wiccan for sure; otherwise, the other cards are replaceable with the likes of Sentinel, Psylocke and Wave.

With this deck you’re aiming to get Wiccan off on turn 4, discounting your hand-generated cards with Quinjet in order to play out the cheap ones before Eson can pull the expensive ones for you late in the game. Mockingbird provides another power spike here while both Peni Parker and Luna Snow help ramp Eson out early.

The playlines with this deck will dramatically change as you generate cards, however, making it incredibly inconsistent – but also incredibly fun.

Should You Spend Spotlight Cache Keys or Collector’s Tokens on Eson?

I think if you’re strapped for resources and not an Arishem player, it’s likely a bad idea to pick up Eson with so many other promising cards coming out this month like Starbrand and Khonshu. If you do play a lot of Arishem – no judgement here – Eson is a no-brainer.

And those are the best Eson decks in Marvel Snap.

Complete Arcane Lineage Class Tier List [LIGHT AND DARK] https://www.escapistmagazine.com/arcane-lineage-complete-class-tier-list-guide/ https://www.escapistmagazine.com/arcane-lineage-complete-class-tier-list-guide/#disqus_thread Mon, 03 Mar 2025 18:53:17 +0000 https://www.escapistmagazine.com/?p=1004893 In Arcane Lineage, Classes define your entire playstyle, determining your abilities, strengths, and progression in the game. Starting with Base Classes, players can advance into powerful Sub Classes and eventually reach elite Super Classes, each offering unique skills and combat advantages. Mastering the right class path is essential for survival and dominance, making Class selection one of the most crucial decisions in Arcane Lineage. For the most optimal results, follow along with our Arcane Lineage Class tier list and guide

All Arcane Lineage Base Classes Ranked

There are the classes you can become when first starting the game. When you reach level 5, you will be able to choose one and upgrade it. However, you can put specialization points into your desired stat even before reaching level 5, so you can prepare for your Base Class. Each Base Class is unique and good at a certain area of battle, so make sure to think carefully.

Base Class Tier List

The Base Class tier list, as can be seen here, is very polarizing. But the tier list does not go below a B, and that is because none of these classes are bad. Any of these classes can be used and upgraded in the harsh world of Arcane Lineage. That said, Thief is by far the strongest one, and below we will explain why in detail.

• High STR scaling allows this class to wield its Cestus weapon with ease.

– Gain increased escape chance. Enemies will target you less.

• They focus on attacking from afar and providing support.
• Specialization in the Arcane allows them to deal a lot of damage at short intervals.
• Sadly, they are wounded very easily as they have no way to defend themself and are left wide open while casting their magic.
• Their abilities cost less than other classes.

We can see that, sadly, not all Base Classes were created equal. The Thief and Slayer Classes are leagues better than the others, but that does not mean that the others do not have a use. For example, the Wizard Class is mostly a gimmick class, but if mastered, it can be stronger than all the others. Make sure to choose the correct class for your playstyle, as more class slots will cost you.

All Arcane Lineage Sub Classes Ranked

Sub Class is available after reaching level 5. There are not many of them, but they make up for it with their incredible versitility and power. You can experiment with them as you wish since they can be changed at any time by talking to a Sub Class Trainer.

Sub Class Tier List

This Tier List is short, as there are currently only 3 Sub Classes in Arcane Lineage. But quantity is not always the most important thing. Each of these Sub Classes brings a unique and powerful side to your already established character. Some are good at offense, some support, and some even economics.

Sub Class List

Here are the abilities and explanations of why these Sub Classes are so good and what their main use is in and outside of battle:

Bards are the best at supporting their team, as they have both buffs for your allies and debuffs for the enemies.
• What separates Bards from other supports is that all their buffs/debuffs are AOE, meaning they hit everyone.
• This allows Bards to be more effective with their abilities and help your team when it matters the most.
• They also possess Curar Forte, the best party heal in the game.
• Be careful, as abilities that take your own health do not have a limiter and can kill you if you are not paying attention.

Alchemist is a specialized Sub Class focused on making and using potions.
• These potions can deal damage, apply buffs and debuffs, and make you a pretty penny.
• After a bit of leveling, you will be able to spawn a cauldron anywhere, allowing you to make potions on the go.
• These potions can also be sold to the Apothecary for a high price, so this class is good for economic purposes even outside of battle.
• To unlock the Alchemist’s full potential, you will need to prepare a few potions.
• You need three different potions to unlock all abilities.
Beastmaster Sub Class from Arcane LineageMark (250 gold + Mushroom Cap)

Bestiary (Utility Item) (Free)

– Enemies registered to the Bestiary using the Mark ability will have better item drop rates in the future.

Sneak (250 Gold + Sand Core)
– You can crouch, moving slowly to avoid enemy encounters.
– While you crouch, you continuously take damage. Be careful, as this ability can kill you.
• The Beastmaster is an extremely versatile Sub Class, allowing for many different play styles.
• Its main goal is to get more loot and item drops from mobs. By registering monsters into your Bestiary, you gain more information about them.
• Once you unlock the Mark ability, you will be able to get extra loot upon killing enemies.
• If used correctly, this class can give you very rare items and allow you to progress through the game much faster than other Sub Classes.
• The Beastmaster can also be used as a support, weakening and exposing enemies’ weak points for yourself and your team.

Choosing the correct Sub Class for your character is extremely important, so choose carefully. All three of these options bring something special to the table, so do not be afraid to experiment. The Alchemist and Beastmaster are good for getting money and items, so consider that if you are low on funds or are aiming to get something expensive.

All Arcane Lineage Super Classes Ranked

Super Classes are unlocked on level 15 and are the most powerful form in the game. They all have unique abilities that build on their Base Class counterpart, allowing for versatile and fun gameplay. They are quite expensive to get and upgrade, so make sure you have enough gold before getting them. They are also taught by different Super Class Trainers, making it somewhat difficult to obtain them.

Super Classes Tier List

Classes like Martial Artist get a very polarizing spread in this case, being the best and the worst in their respective niches. On the opposite side of the spectrum, the Slayer Super Classes are all high tier and are some of the best choices in the game. Choosing the right Super Class to upgrade to can be difficult, so let’s take a look at all the details below.

Super Classes List

All Super Classes have unique damage types, passives, and scaling. We will delve deep and see which Super Class is the best for your playstyle:

Sadly, not all of them are on the same level, and some stand out more than others. The Brawler is fun but has low stats and influence compared to others, making it unviable. The Monk, which is from the same evolution tree, is the best because of its Fire attacks and ability to buff the entire team. Consult this list carefully when choosing a Super Class, as they are very expensive to upgrade, and it can take you a while to change them if you don’t like the one you chose.

How to Train Classes and Level Up

To train your Classes up and evolve them to a higher form, you need to find Class Trainers. They are scattered around the world, in towns and villages, but also in the wilderness. They can be quite hard to locate, so make sure you are well-informed before heading out to find them. Each training costs a certain amount of gold, and some are more expensive than others. A normal upgrade costs 400 Gold, while an upgrade for a Hexer, for example, costs 750 Gold per level.

After a detailed examination of all Accessories, in and out of combat, we found that Vitality is the most crucial factor when choosing an Accessory. In other words, being able to withstand a hit or two more can make all the difference. Chakra is also good, but as there are Chakra Regeneration abilities in everyone’s kit, they are not as important. Mastery Levels are also important, but those depend on your build, so choose them carefully.

How do I Get Accessories in Ninja Time

You can get Ninja Time Accessories in many different ways. Defeating Bosses is the simplest and main way to get them, but some Accessories are available through missions, too. Make sure to explore the world around you, and you will find good Accessories everywhere you look.

And that is all for our Ninja Time Accessory guide and tier list. Want to learn more? Check out our Ninja Time Clans, Families, and Elements guides.

How Does Dragon Ball Daima’s Finale Explain Goku Never Using Super Saiyan 4 in Super? https://www.escapistmagazine.com/how-does-dragon-ball-daimas-finale-explain-goku-never-using-super-saiyan-4-in-super/ https://www.escapistmagazine.com/how-does-dragon-ball-daimas-finale-explain-goku-never-using-super-saiyan-4-in-super/#disqus_thread Fri, 28 Feb 2025 18:13:48 +0000 https://www.escapistmagazine.com/?p=1004054 The Dragon Ball Daima finale features an epic battle between Gomah and Goku, who is showing off a new form. Of course, many fans were expecting this episode to reveal how Super Saiyan 4 exists. So, how does Dragon Ball Daima‘s finale explain Super Saiyan 4’s absence in Super?

What Happens With Super Saiyan 4 in Dragon Ball Daima’s Finale?

Episode 19 of the newest Dragon Ball series sees the Z Fighters return to their adult forms after Glorio uses his wish to help his allies. Vegeta tries to take out Gomah on his own, but he fails despite being able to go Super Saiyan 3. This leaves Goku to finish the job, and he taps into the power that Neva gave him the episode before, which he later refers to as “Super Saiyan 4.”

Using this form, Goku battles Gomah in the finale and holds his own. In fact, using his iconic Kamehameha, he blasts a hole through his opponent and the entirety of the Demon Realm, opening the door for Picollo to go in and knock the eye out of Gomah’s head. He isn’t able to get all the necessary hits in but Majin Kuu is, and Gomah goes down, freeing the Demon Realm from his tyranny.

At this point, it feels like Dragon Ball Daima is about to explain how the Super Saiyan 4 form is Demon Realm-exclusive or something only Neva can unlock, but it doesn’t. Instead, Goku mentions to Vegeta that he got the new form just by training after beating Buu. There’s no mind-wipe, either, leaving the canon status of Dragon Ball Daima up in the air.

Is Dragon Ball Daima Canon to Super?

Ultra Instinct Goku Dragon Ball Super as part of an article about Super Saiyan 4 in Daima.

The introduction of Super Saiyan 4 raises a lot of questions about Daima‘s place in Dragon Ball canon. After all, there’s no way that Goku wouldn’t tap into this incredibly-powerful form when he fought Beerus at the start of Super, especially when the fate of the Earth was at stake. Sure, maybe Goku just forgot all about it, but Vegeta, who was upset once again at his rival surpassing him, surely wouldn’t have.

There is one moment that potentially teases a way out, however. The post-credits scene of the Dragon Ball Daima finale reveals that the Demon Realm has two more Evil Third Eyes. If the series returns for another season, one which sees the objects fall into the hands of the wrong people, there’s an avenue for Super Saiyan 4 to return and for Goku to lose it somehow. That’s pure speculation at this point, but if something like that doesn’t happen, Dragon Ball just created a massive plot hole that’s going to lead to constant arguments online for years.

And that’s how Dragon Ball Daima‘s finale explains Goku never using Super Saiyan 4 in Super. If you’re looking for more, here’s what the intro song for the anime series is.

Dragon Ball Daima is streaming now on Crunchyroll.

How to Complete the Chunin Exam in Ninja Time https://www.escapistmagazine.com/chunin-exam-guide-in-ninja-time/ https://www.escapistmagazine.com/chunin-exam-guide-in-ninja-time/#disqus_thread Thu, 27 Feb 2025 08:18:40 +0000 https://www.escapistmagazine.com/?p=1002988 Fans of the original Naruto Series are familiar with the Chunin Exam, but what about fresh players of the Roblox new wonder Ninja Time? To become a Chunin and unlock new quests, you must pass the Chunin Exam in the Ninja Time game, available from level 18. Below is a step-by-step guide on how to complete the Chunin Exam in Ninja Time.

Chunin Exam Guide in Ninja Time

Ninja Time is a game packed with quests and exams you must resolve to unlock new abilities and missions. For example, upon completing the Ninja Time Chunin Exam and becoming Chunin, you will unlock Chidori and a string of new exciting quests. You can also familiarize yourself with the entire game by browsing through the Ninja Time Trello Board & Discord. But for now, let’s delve deeper into our Ninja Time Chunin Exam guide by taking it one step at a time.

Step 1: Start The Chunin Exam

To complete the Chunin Exam in Ninja Time, you must talk to Ichikage NPC, who is located in the Leaf Village.

Once you resolve the conversation, take the Chunin Exam, but remember: you must be at least level 18! Let’s take a look at all the questions and answers to the Ninja Time Chunin Exam.

Ninja Time Chunin Exam Questions and Answers (Level 18 Quest)

QuestionAnswer
What are the different ranks in the Ninja System?Genin, Chunin, Junin, and Kage
What is the name of Hero’s Friend?Black Flames
Which legendary Sannin becomes the First Hokage?Luxinn
What is the forbidden technique used by Raven to protect the ninja world?Izanami
Who is known for the Yellow Flash of the Hidden Leaf?Yellow Thunder
What is the name of the demon that attacked the Hidden Leaf Village many years ago?Nine Tails
Which group of ninjas Raven joined after leaving the village?Secret Organization
What are the ultimate goals of Black Flames? To avenge his clan
Who is the Hidden Gas Demon’s best friend?Icy
Which village does Copycat belong to?Hidden Leaf Village

Step 2: Eliminate Weak Ninjas

Right after you finish the written part of the Chunin Exam, you must defeat 20-25 Weak Ninjas. To do so, just follow the quest pointer symbolized by the yellow exclamation mark. The Weak Ninjas have limited moves and damage output, so it won’t be too difficult. After you’ve dealt with the weaker enemies, you might have to fight tougher opponents as well, such as the Sound Brothers.

Step 3: Go to Forty-Fourth Tower

When you have dealt with the Sound Brothers, go straight to the Forty-Fourth Tower. Again, follow the yellow pointer, and when you arrive, open the door and go inside the Tower.

Step 4: Defeat Stone Leo

Inside the Forty-Four Tower, speak with sensei Hayake NPC, and he’ll assign you the task of eliminating Stone Leo.

As you probably know, this is basically a Rock Lee character from the Naruto Universe. Upon defeating Rock Lee, hopefully, you get his gear and then you can go to Kenma.

Step 5: Chunin Exam Endgame

Kenma will give you a task to defeat the White Eyes in the Arena behind. Again, talk to sensei before you start fighting. If you struggle to defeat the last boss of the Chunin Exam in Ninja Time, redeem some codes and then try again but with a better Clan, Family, and Element.

When you take care of White Eyes, the Chunin Exam is completed. You will receive a Chunin Vest as a reward, then visit Ekisu and take on a bevy of new quests.

You have completed our Ninja Time Chunin Exam guide and can freely roam the Ninja Time world while looking for more challenging tasks, well done! Feel free to check our Ninja Time Weapons Tier list and collect them all.

Best Gorgon, Laufey & Uncle Ben Decks in Marvel Snap https://www.escapistmagazine.com/best-gorgon-laufey-uncle-ben-decks-in-marvel-snap/ https://www.escapistmagazine.com/best-gorgon-laufey-uncle-ben-decks-in-marvel-snap/#disqus_thread Wed, 26 Feb 2025 13:04:01 +0000 https://www.escapistmagazine.com/?p=1002642 With so many new cards coming to Marvel Snap, it’s hard to keep track of them all. Fortunately, The Escapist is here to make sense of it all. Here are the best Gorgon, Laufey, and Uncle Ben decks in Marvel Snap.

How Gorgon Works in Marvel Snap

Gorgon is a 2-cost, 3-power card with an ability that reads: “Ongoing: Your opponent’s cards that didn’t start in their deck cost 1 more. (maximum 6)”

This is clearly a direct counter to Arishem decks; however, it also affects decks like Discard that fill their hands with Swarms, Iron Patriot rolls, and Devil Dinosaur lists – though the latter isn’t all that popular.

It can be negated with Mobius M. Mobius or an anti-Ongoing card like Rogue or Enchantress.

How Laufey Works in Marvel Snap

Laufey is a 4-cost, 5-power card with an ability that reads: “On Reveal: Steal 1 Power from each other card here.”

This is a decently powerful effect with four total cards in an opposite location, making Laufey effectively a 13-power card if that’s the case. It’s a bit like Spider-Woman but a little better, as Laufey can be discounted with Zabu, making it easier to synergize with cards like Diamondback and Ajax.

How Uncle Ben Works in Marvel Snap

Uncle Ben is a 1-cost, 2-power card with an ability that reads: “When this card is destroyed, replace it with Spider-Man.”

Spider-Man, as I’m sure you’re aware, is a 2-cost, 4-power card with an ability that reads: “On Reveal: Move to another location and pull an enemy card from here to there.”

Uncle Ben has synergy with Destroy enablers like Carnage, Venom, and Lady Deathstrike, and plays a lot like an alternative to Bucky Barnes.

Best Gorgon, Laufey, and Uncle Ben Decks in Marvel Snap

So as these are “free” cards, they’re not exactly powerful must-haves – with the exception of maybe Laufey if you’re into affliction-style Ajax decks.

Let’s take a look at Gorgon first, as you could slot him into just about any deck:

  • Ant-Man
  • Ravonna Renslayer
  • Gorgon
  • Sam Wilson Captain America
  • Mystique
  • Mister Fantastic
  • Luke Cage
  • Captain America
  • Moonstone
  • Anti-Venom (Or Iron Lad)
  • Iron Man
  • Spectrum

Click here to copy this list from Untapped.

The Series 5 cards in this list are Moonstone and Anti-Venom. Thankfully, you can replace the latter with Iron Lad if you have him.

I’ve personally run this deck a ton, and while you would much rather play Ravonna Renslayer or Sam Wilson on turn 2, Gorgon isn’t a bad alternative on turn 5 drop alongside a 3 drop either. Sure, against many decks, he won’t do much, but game modes like Conquest have a lot of Arishem lists and he gets buffed up by Spectrum and Moonstone can make your opponent’s generated cards cost even more.

The main win condition is either stacking Ongoing effects with Moonstone or getting Iron Man and Mystique discounted for a final turn splash.

For Laufey, the deck he fits into is relatively straightforward – it’s Toxic Ajax. Let’s take a look:

  • Zabu
  • Hazmat
  • Scorpion
  • US Agent
  • Luke Cage
  • Diamondback
  • Red Guardian
  • Laufey
  • Malekith
  • Anti-Venom
  • Man-Thing
  • Ajax

Click here to copy this list from Untapped.

This list has far too many Series 5 cards: US Agent, Diamondback, Red Guardian, Malekith, Anti-Venom, and Ajax. They’re all unfortunately necessary, with the exception of Red Guardian – you could sub him for Rocket Racoon and Groot (which is also Series 5, unfortunately).

If you do have all the necessary cards, this deck is going to be a massive problem once Luke Cage’s popularity dies down. The goal is to win one lane with Ajax while dominating another with cards like US Agent and Diamondback. Anti-Venom is a great inclusion in any deck with Luke Cage as it basically gives you a free card; likewise, Malekith almost always draws a great card from you outside of Zabu.

Last, we have Uncle Ben. He’s the worst card of the bunch and the most difficult to slot into a deck. I tried anyway:

  • The Hood
  • Uncle Ben
  • Yondu
  • Cable
  • Iron Patriot
  • Killmonger
  • Baron Zemo
  • Gladiator
  • Shang-Chi
  • Misery
  • Lady Deathstrike
  • Death

Click here to copy this list from Untapped.

The Series 5 cards in this list are Iron Patriot, Baron Zemo, and Misery. The latter two are necessary, though you could swap out Iron Patriot for something like Red Guardian.

The goal with this list is to wreck your opponent’s deck while discounting your own Death, retriggering the card effects of The Hood and Yondu with Misery, and countering them with Killmonger, Shang-Chi, and Lady Deathstrike. Killmonger and Deathstrike also destroy Uncle Ben, spawning a Spider-Man on the board that can mess up your opponent further.

Should You Grind Sanctum Showdown in Marvel Rivals for Gorgon, Laufey & Uncle Ben?

As rolling for one of these three cards costs 1200 Charms in the new game mode, it’ll cost you 3600 charms – quite a lot – to get all three. The only one really worth your time is Laufey if you like affliction decks. As such, I think it’s better to roll 2250 Charms for unowned Series 4 and 5 cards depending on what your collection looks like, as you won’t get to pull that many cards.

And those are the best Gorgon, Laufey, and Uncle Ben decks in Marvel Snap.

Best Diamondback Decks in Marvel Snap https://www.escapistmagazine.com/best-diamondback-decks-in-marvel-snap/ https://www.escapistmagazine.com/best-diamondback-decks-in-marvel-snap/#disqus_thread Tue, 25 Feb 2025 13:06:41 +0000 https://www.escapistmagazine.com/?p=1002001 Another villain only the most diehard Marvel fans may have heard of joins Marvel Snap. Diamondback, however, like a lot of female villains, flirts with becoming a heroine. Here are the best Diamondback decks in Marvel Snap.

How Diamondback Works in Marvel Snap

Diamondback is a 3-cost, 3-power card with an ability that reads: “Ongoing: Enemy cards here afflicted with negative Power have an additional -2 Power.”

This leads to quite a lot of synergy as Marvel Snap has introduced a lot of negative afflicting cards – most notably US. Agent and Man Thing. But there’s also Scorpion, Hazmat, Cassandra Nova, Scream, Bullseye, and more. You’ll want to at least hit two cards with her Ongoing effect to make her a 7-power card.

Do note that Luke Cage will completely negate her power output, rendering her useless, and Enchantress and Rogue can completely take the sting out of this snake-themed villain pretty quickly.

Best Diamondback Decks in Marvel Snap

Diamondback may seem like a narrow card, but she truthfully fits into several competitive decks- Scream Move, Toxic Ajax, High Evolutionary, and Bullseye Discard, to name a few. I personally think she will see the most play in Toxic Ajax and High Evolutionary; however, those lists are quite similar. Let’s look at two varied decks to play her in: Scream Move and Toxic Ajax.

  • Kingpin
  • Scream
  • Kraven
  • Sam Wilson Captain America
  • Spider-Man
  • Diamondback
  • Rocket Raccoon and Groot
  • Polaris
  • Doom 2099
  • Aero
  • Doctor Doom
  • Magneto

Click here to copy this list from Untapped.

The Series 5 cards in this list are Scream, Sam Wilson Captain America, Rocket Raccoon and Groot, and Doom 2099. Scream and Rocket Raccoon and Groot are absolutely necessary to make this deck work; however, if you didn’t pick up Sam Wilson, consider swapping him for another affliction card like Scorpion.

The goal here is to push your opponent’s cards around the board while afflicting them with Kingpin and Scream. Diamondback can slot into the same lane as Kingpin to effectively win that lane; you’ll be taking -4 off cards pulled or pushed over there, while Scream will be gaining power elsewhere.

The second half of this deck is a Doom 2099 package, as you won’t be dropping a lot of cards on the final turns of the game. Aero into Doctor Doom or Magneto with an added Doombot plus any affliction caused by pushing cards around adds up fairly quickly.

Related: Best Ares Decks in Marvel Snap

Let’s take a look at the more likely home for Diamondback, Toxic Ajax:

  • Silver Sable
  • Hazmat
  • US Agent
  • Luke Cage
  • Rogue
  • Diamondback
  • Red Guardian
  • Rocket Raccoon and Groot
  • Malekith
  • Anti-Venom
  • Man-Thing
  • Ajax

Click here to copy this list from Untapped.

Series 5 cars in this list are plentiful and include Silver Sable, US Agent, Red Guardian, Rocket Raccoon and Groot, Malekith, Anti-Venom, and Ajax. You can swap Silver Sable out for something like Nebula; however, the rest are all pretty mandatory to run this deck most efficiently. It’s one of the most expensive in the game but incredibly powerful.

The goal here is to get your Ajax to the highest power level possible with all your affliction cards; sometimes, you don’t want to play Luke Cage in order to power up Ajax more. Malekith has the chance to pull cards like Hazmat and Diamondback for spikes in power; furthermore, Anti-Venom can lead to a surprise splash of power on the final turns of the game.

Rogue makes this list as there’s an incredibly high chance you’ll see a lot of Luke Cage during Diamondback’s release week. This deck is completely obliterated by him, so having Rogue as a counter goes a long way toward making sure this deck continues to work.

Is Diamondback Worth Spotlight Cache Keys or Collector’s Tokens?

If you have most of the affliction-style cards to make an Ajax list or enjoy Scream quite a lot, Diamondback is a great addition to your collection. If you tend to stay away from such affliction decks or don’t have necessary cards like Scream and Rocket Raccoon and Groot, she’s a good card to skip because she’ll only ever be truly useful in types of decks that are prohibitively expensive.

And those are the best Diamondback decks in Marvel Snap.

If you also want to learn about the game’s clans, bosses, weapons, and Red Eyes (a personal favorite), here’s how to access the Ninja Time Trello and Discord communities.

Ninja Time Tello & Discord Guide

Below are listed all Ninja Time community channels:

We advise all rising ronins to consult the Trello board before embarking on this epic ninja journey and to use Ninja Time codes to make the best out of your character right off the bat. This is an essential starter pack for all wannabee ninjas, packed with crucial features, items, and game mechanics. Here’s what you can expect in detail:

  • All elements

  • Other Info (Achievements, Gamepasses, etc.)

Regarding basic game information, the Discord server is inferior to the Trello board, but it shines in all other necessary departments, such as codes and giveaways and even the fan art section. Needless to say, the Ninja Time Discord server is a chat-based community where socializing and information exchange come hand in hand, and apart from English, it’s available in Portuguese, Spanish, and French.

Personally, I go there to seek interesting questions and game suggestions since it’s always fruitful to bring a new idea into the mix. Also, if you are looking for a Ninja Time party member or want to keep in touch with the latest game updates

Beginner’s Guide to Avowed https://www.escapistmagazine.com/beginners-guide-to-avowed/ https://www.escapistmagazine.com/beginners-guide-to-avowed/#disqus_thread Tue, 18 Feb 2025 12:53:33 +0000 https://www.escapistmagazine.com/?p=998835 Avowed is out now, and Obsidian’s newest game has elements that should please RPG fans while being accessible to newcomers to the genre. RPGs can be intimidating for newbies, though—trust me, I know. It’s never fun to go it alone, so take these tips with you.

Know the Basics

Avowed is like many other RPGs. You’ll earn XP by completing quests, defeating enemies, discovering areas, and more. As you gain XP, you level up. Each level achieved gives you attribute points and ability points to spend. This is how you make your character unique. You can make them a great warrior skilled in hand-to-hand combat or a powerful wizard. It’s up to you.

Attributes affect what your character is strong at. I tend to choose the scholar class in these types of games, mostly because I like reading a lot. But you do you. The good news is that Avowed allows you to re-roll all of your points if you find that the build you’ve invested in isn’t working for you. That alone makes it a very beginner-friendly RPG.

Explore Avowed’s World

Avowed isn’t a completely open world, but it isn’t totally linear, either. There will be clear story objectives to do throughout the game. Those are tempting for new players to follow – heading towards the marker is always intuitive, right? But a game like Avowed is meant to be explored.

At their best, RPGs allow you to get lost in the world and forget all about the main quest. There’s so much to do in Avowed if you get a little bit lost. Exploring different buildings, caves, and areas will get you loot and resources. Then, a wealth of side quests can be found if you’re willing to take them. Some are really easy and basically free XP for your character.

Books and notes will give you more background on the story. Obsidian is good with storytelling, so don’t just collect the items – use them to learn more about the world. If you’re willing to look enough, you’ll find treasure maps throughout the world, too. They’ll give you a chance to find special gear or a lot of coins, which are always good to have.

Finally, by exploring a lot, you’ll pick up a lot of gold. That’s going to help you get better weapons and gear faster. I can’t stress enough how big a difference that will make in combat, especially against boss-level foes. Rushing through the story might even leave you underpowered. Take your time, and it will help you be ready.

Stock Up On Health and Essence Potions

Combat might be challenging early on if you’re new to a game like Avowed. You’ll want to balance physical and essence attacks and always watch your health and essence bars. The most basic potions you’ll need in Avowed are the health and essence potions. Health restores a large amount of health, and essence refills your essence bar. You can find these potions throughout the world, and many vendors have them in the cities you visit. They’re easy to spot; health potions glow bright red, and the essence is bright pink.

Be aware of whether you actually need to use the potions, though – especially the health potion. If a small amount of your health is depleted, use some of the food you should be picking up throughout the world. Pay attention, though: some food and herbs will remove effects like poison. You want to keep those until you need them.

Only use the health potion if your health is low. It’s not like Call of Duty, where you reload after every kill.

Give Your Companions Some Love

Every time you level up, you get to upgrade your character. You get skill and attribute points that will affect your combat abilities and even your conversation options. When you upgrade, though, don’t forget about your companions. Neglecting to upgrade their abilities along the way will result in deep regret and probable restarts after dying.

Your companions will help you in combat and can even have healing power for you and your party. If your companions are weak, you’ll eventually find your character swarmed with enemies, and your party will be down. But if you remember to upgrade them, you’ll find that they are a valuable asset in combat and will help you achieve victory much easier.

Upgrade Your Gear

You’ll pick up resources as you move around the map. Many of these can be used to upgrade your weapons or gear. When you make a camp, there is a station to the left (when you first enter camp) where you can upgrade your gear.

This is especially helpful once you have some gear you might use for a while. Early in the game, you’ll change weapons more often, so be selective about investing resources. Better gear costs more to upgrade, but it’s very worth it. Upgrades will give you better attack power, critical chance, or more protection from damage, among other benefits.

Have Fun and Play Your Way

Games like Avowed are all about getting lost in another world. So do that. If you want just to take on the main story, do that. If you want to tackle every side quest the game offers, you’ll enjoy that, too. The beauty of RPGs like Avowed is that it’s about creating your own story. So, save the Living Lands your way, and have fun doing it.

And that’s a beginner’s guide to Avowed.

Avowed is available now on PC and Xbox.
