Chrollo’s next big hit is up with a trailer, release date, and periodical public playtest. Here’s everything you need to know about the Basketball Rivals release date.

Basketball Rivals Release Date Trailer

Basketball Rivals will officially be releasing on March 14, 2025 at 5PM EST. The news came with the long awaited trailer for the game which you can check out below. I highly recommend checking out the official event page created for the release. There you can track all the information and any date or timeframe changes that might occur last-minute.

Basketball Rivals Release Trailer

Below you’ll find the release trailer and it’s HYPE. The trailer showcases some of the styles from the game like Aomine Daiki’s dribbling and scoring as well as Shintaro Midorima’s full court shot. Testers will be familiar with all the styles but this is a chance for newcomers to the game to get a glimpse of all the abilities you can unlock.

Basketball Rivals Public Playtest – Prerelease

Stay tuned to the Basketball Rivals game page and Discord server for the prerelease public playtest. Essentially, Chrollo will set the game to Public before the official release for 30 minutes every time the Release Event page reaches 20,000 Interested people. So the game will be Public for 30 Minutes at 20k, 40k, 60k interested members, etc. Don’t miss out your chance to jump into the game before launch. I don’t recommend buying anything with Robux however since it won’t be saved for the launch.

Official Basketball Rivals Trello

Currently in the prerelease phase, there isn’t a Basketball Rivals Trello. However, Chrollo has confirmed that there will be an official Trello board for the game once it launches. There you can check out all the different customization options you can get and roll for. It will follow a similar format like Blue Lock Rivals with each main character from Kuroko’s Basket getting a style.

That’s all you need to know for the Basketball Rivals release date. Until then, check out our Basketball Rivals codes to prepare for the game.

Complete Arcane Lineage Class Tier List [LIGHT AND DARK] https://www.escapistmagazine.com/arcane-lineage-complete-class-tier-list-guide/ https://www.escapistmagazine.com/arcane-lineage-complete-class-tier-list-guide/#disqus_thread Mon, 03 Mar 2025 18:53:17 +0000 https://www.escapistmagazine.com/?p=1004893 In Arcane Lineage, Classes define your entire playstyle, determining your abilities, strengths, and progression in the game. Starting with Base Classes, players can advance into powerful Sub Classes and eventually reach elite Super Classes, each offering unique skills and combat advantages. Mastering the right class path is essential for survival and dominance, making Class selection one of the most crucial decisions in Arcane Lineage. For the most optimal results, follow along with our Arcane Lineage Class tier list and guide

All Arcane Lineage Base Classes Ranked

There are the classes you can become when first starting the game. When you reach level 5, you will be able to choose one and upgrade it. However, you can put specialization points into your desired stat even before reaching level 5, so you can prepare for your Base Class. Each Base Class is unique and good at a certain area of battle, so make sure to think carefully.

Base Class Tier List

The Base Class tier list, as can be seen here, is very polarizing. But the tier list does not go below a B, and that is because none of these classes are bad. Any of these classes can be used and upgraded in the harsh world of Arcane Lineage. That said, Thief is by far the strongest one, and below we will explain why in detail.

Base Class List

Below is a detailed list of all Base Classes in Arcane Lineage:

• They use their skills to disorient their foes and make them bleed with their dagger.
• This class is considered to be the best starting class in Arcane Lineage.
• The cost of their abilities is also not as expensive as some others, making this class even better.

Slayer is a mid-range, hard-hitting class.
• It scales very well with physical damage and STR.

• Dodging with this class grants you a speed boost, making them very agile and versatile in battle.
Martial Artist Class from Arcane LineageBarrage (55 gold)

Martial Artist is a very tanky and melee-combat-focused class.
• They use their fists to break through the enemies’ defenses and use their strong bodies to block enemy attacks.
• This class has the unique benefit of taking less damage while blocking, so tanking is much easier.
• High STR scaling allows this class to wield its Cestus weapon with ease.
Warrior Class from Arcane LineagePommel Strike (50 gold)

• They focus on attacking from afar and providing support.
• Specialization in the Arcane allows them to deal a lot of damage at short intervals.
• Sadly, they are wounded very easily as they have no way to defend themself and are left wide open while casting their magic.
• Their abilities cost less than other classes.

We can see that, sadly, not all Base Classes were created equal. The Thief and Slayer Classes are leagues better than the others, but that does not mean that the others do not have a use. For example, the Wizard Class is mostly a gimmick class, but if mastered, it can be stronger than all the others. Make sure to choose the correct class for your playstyle, as more class slots will cost you.

All Arcane Lineage Sub Classes Ranked

Sub Class is available after reaching level 5. There are not many of them, but they make up for it with their incredible versitility and power. You can experiment with them as you wish since they can be changed at any time by talking to a Sub Class Trainer.

Sub Class Tier List

This Tier List is short, as there are currently only 3 Sub Classes in Arcane Lineage. But quantity is not always the most important thing. Each of these Sub Classes brings a unique and powerful side to your already established character. Some are good at offense, some support, and some even economics.

Sub Class List

Here are the abilities and explanations of why these Sub Classes are so good and what their main use is in and outside of battle:

Bards are the best at supporting their team, as they have both buffs for your allies and debuffs for the enemies.
• What separates Bards from other supports is that all their buffs/debuffs are AOE, meaning they hit everyone.
• This allows Bards to be more effective with their abilities and help your team when it matters the most.
• They also possess Curar Forte, the best party heal in the game.
• Be careful, as abilities that take your own health do not have a limiter and can kill you if you are not paying attention.

Alchemist is a specialized Sub Class focused on making and using potions.
• These potions can deal damage, apply buffs and debuffs, and make you a pretty penny.
• After a bit of leveling, you will be able to spawn a cauldron anywhere, allowing you to make potions on the go.
• These potions can also be sold to the Apothecary for a high price, so this class is good for economic purposes even outside of battle.
• To unlock the Alchemist’s full potential, you will need to prepare a few potions.
• You need three different potions to unlock all abilities.
Beastmaster Sub Class from Arcane LineageMark (250 gold + Mushroom Cap)

– Enemies registered to the Bestiary using the Mark ability will have better item drop rates in the future.

Sneak (250 Gold + Sand Core)
– You can crouch, moving slowly to avoid enemy encounters.
– While you crouch, you continuously take damage. Be careful, as this ability can kill you.
• The Beastmaster is an extremely versatile Sub Class, allowing for many different play styles.
• Its main goal is to get more loot and item drops from mobs. By registering monsters into your Bestiary, you gain more information about them.
• Once you unlock the Mark ability, you will be able to get extra loot upon killing enemies.
• If used correctly, this class can give you very rare items and allow you to progress through the game much faster than other Sub Classes.
• The Beastmaster can also be used as a support, weakening and exposing enemies’ weak points for yourself and your team.

Choosing the correct Sub Class for your character is extremely important, so choose carefully. All three of these options bring something special to the table, so do not be afraid to experiment. The Alchemist and Beastmaster are good for getting money and items, so consider that if you are low on funds or are aiming to get something expensive.

All Arcane Lineage Super Classes Ranked

Super Classes are unlocked on level 15 and are the most powerful form in the game. They all have unique abilities that build on their Base Class counterpart, allowing for versatile and fun gameplay. They are quite expensive to get and upgrade, so make sure you have enough gold before getting them. They are also taught by different Super Class Trainers, making it somewhat difficult to obtain them.

Super Classes Tier List

Classes like Martial Artist get a very polarizing spread in this case, being the best and the worst in their respective niches. On the opposite side of the spectrum, the Slayer Super Classes are all high tier and are some of the best choices in the game. Choosing the right Super Class to upgrade to can be difficult, so let’s take a look at all the details below.

Some Super Classes have health-based scaling, some have incredible speed, and some have very high burst damage and AOE. Sadly, not all of them are on the same level, and some stand out more than others. The Brawler is fun but has low stats and influence compared to others, making it unviable. The Monk, which is from the same evolution tree, is the best because of its Fire attacks and ability to buff the entire team. Consult this list carefully when choosing a Super Class, as they are very expensive to upgrade, and it can take you a while to change them if you don’t like the one you chose.

How to Train Classes and Level Up

To train your Classes up and evolve them to a higher form, you need to find Class Trainers. They are scattered around the world, in towns and villages, but also in the wilderness. They can be quite hard to locate, so make sure you are well-informed before heading out to find them. Each training costs a certain amount of gold, and some are more expensive than others. A normal upgrade costs 400 Gold, while an upgrade for a Hexer, for example, costs 750 Gold per level.

That is all for our Arcane Lineage Complete Class tier list and guide. Looking for more information? Check out our Race and Class combos guide to ensure your survival in the harsh wilderness.

Complete Rune Slayer Factions Guide https://www.escapistmagazine.com/rune-slayer-factions-guide/ https://www.escapistmagazine.com/rune-slayer-factions-guide/#disqus_thread Mon, 03 Mar 2025 14:06:40 +0000 https://www.escapistmagazine.com/?p=1004773 When you get close to max level in Rune Slayer, you’ll get the option of joining one of two factions. Even though you aren’t required to, there are some benefits to being part of a faction. To help you out, we made this Rune Slayer Factions 101.

What are Factions in Rune Slayer?

Currently, there are two factions in Rune Slayer:

  • The Holy Faction – Knight’s Templar (The Good Guys)
  • The Demon Faction – Demonic Sect (The Bad Guys)

You don’t have to join either of these factions, but if you do, you will gain access to a new spawn point, new faction quests, new gear, and a few more benefits.

How to Join the Holy Faction in Rune Slayer

Joining the Holy Faction in Rune Slayer is super simple. It’s almost like the game wants you to join it. When you get to Lakeshire, look for a large cave-like entrance with an elevator and a climbable rope. Take either of these up and look at the entrance towards Bahlgar. Take the stone steps that lead up and immediately turn right. It’s a bit of a steep climb, but you shouldn’t have any trouble following this path. Follow the path, go around the mountain, and you’ll reach the Knight’s Templar. Walk in and talk to the leader (Arthiel, the Sacred Blade).

After you join, you can set the spawn point in the Knight’s Templar base and unlock the Holy knight armory, but only after you finish the introduction quest and start ranking up.

How to Join the Demon Faction in Rune Slayer

If you want to play for the bad guys (don’t worry, we prefer that too), you can join the Demon Sect. The only problem is that getting there isn’t exactly easy. In fact, to get to the Demon Sect base, you actually need to go through the Holy Faction guards. Follow this guide to get there and don’t sespiar if you fall, die, or get knocked into lava by an Imp (it happens to everyone):

An Orc Warrior is going from Lakeshire to the Demon Sect
Gif by The Escapist
  • From Lakeshire, go through the Cave and climb up (the same cave you’d use to get to Bahlgar / Knight’s Templar
  • Go towards the sealed door (guarded by two Templar Knights)
  • Pay the guard on the right 5 silver to unlock the sealed door
  • Navigate fast through the volcanic area (follow our gif)
  • Don’t linger too much because you’ll start burning after a while (this will slowly lower your health)
  • Once you make it to the Demon faction base, talk to the leader (Malzareth, the Worldscorcher) to join

As you can tell, this is much trickier than joining the Holy Faction. Fortunately, unlike the Holy Faction, the Demon Sect has a unique ability to travel using red portals. Currently, there are two portals: one that leads to the Wilderness and one that leads to Bahlgar.

Why Join a Faction in Rune Slayer?

During its release week, many Rune Slayer players were claiming that there was no point in joining any of the factions because they did nothing. Sure, you were setting yourself up to battle players from the opposing faction, but seeing how almost nobody was doing PvP, it seemed pointless.

A list of weapons and armor available to buy from the Holy Faction vendor
Screenshot via ImSoaren

Fortunately (or unfortunately), a week has gone by, and now we actually know you can buy faction gear from the vendors. These armor pieces are considered some of the best in the game, but there is a catch. In order to buy a single piece of this gear, you need to pay upwards of 10 g for a single weapon / armor, and you also need to reach a high enough rank with the faction.

How do you gain ranks with your faction? By killing players from the opposing action, of course. The more you kill, the better your rank will be. However, you won’t get your rank right away. All your kills are calculated at the end of the week, after which you’ll gain access to the faction vendor and see how much longer you need to grind before you’re eligible to buy a weapon or armor.

In essence, after you join a faction, you just start killing players from the opposing faction, and at the end of the week, buy new armor and gear.

How to Leave a Faction in Rune Slayer?

A Rune Slayer player is seeing a message explaining why leaving a faction is impossible
Screenshot by The Escapist

You can’t. As of writing this, there is no way to leave after you’ve picked a faction with a character. There is a good chance this will be fixed in an update, but for now, think twice before you commit to either the Holy or the Demon faction.

That’s all there is to it. Now go out there and do evil… uhhh… GOOD things in Rune Slayer. If you need more help with Rune Slayer End Game, check out our guide on Essential Rune Slayer End Game Tips. If you want to stay up to date with Rune Slayer, keep an eye out for the unofficial Trello board.

After a detailed examination of all Accessories, in and out of combat, we found that Vitality is the most crucial factor when choosing an Accessory. In other words, being able to withstand a hit or two more can make all the difference. Chakra is also good, but as there are Chakra Regeneration abilities in everyone’s kit, they are not as important. Mastery Levels are also important, but those depend on your build, so choose them carefully.

How do I Get Accessories in Ninja Time

You can get Ninja Time Accessories in many different ways. Defeating Bosses is the simplest and main way to get them, but some Accessories are available through missions, too. Make sure to explore the world around you, and you will find good Accessories everywhere you look.

And that is all for our Ninja Time Accessory guide and tier list. Want to learn more? Check out our Ninja Time Clans, Families, and Elements guides.

Soul

Soul is a common clan in Ninja Time (48,5% spin chance) best known for efficiency against groups of enemies. Overall, it’s a mediocre clan but can be quite fun in the hands of a player skilled in enemy-controlling.

Ninjutsu 5Damage 50 + 1 per Mastery level is a good start, especially with Defense break.
Ninjutsu 10This is very cool: control the enemy and apply Defense break, great for strategists.
Ninjutsu 15High-output damage of 100 + 1 per Mastery level, and Defense break to boot.

Essential Rune Slayer End Game Tips https://www.escapistmagazine.com/rune-slayer-end-game-guide/ https://www.escapistmagazine.com/rune-slayer-end-game-guide/#disqus_thread Fri, 28 Feb 2025 15:26:43 +0000 https://www.escapistmagazine.com/?p=1003953 You braved Wayshire, you conquered the challenges of Ashenshire, and you’re getting close to that max level in Rune Slayer. The only problem is… the game at this point gets A LOT harder, you aren’t sure where to go, and everyone else but you seems to have things figured out. Don’t worry; we’ve been here too, and are here to help. Here’s what you should do in Rune Slayer during the end game.

Rune Slayer End Game Guide

I’ll guide you through the late game in Rune Slayer in no particular order. The tips below should definitely be on your to-do list as you reach the higher levels. Note that since Rune Slayer is going to be updated frequently, many of these may become irrelevant. We’ll do our best to tweak them as updates come out.

Visit Lakenshire

A Rune Slayer player is going from Wayshire to Lakeshire
Gif by The Escapist

When you push past level 30 and have killed the Basilisk, it’s probably a good idea to head for the next (and currently final) town, Lakeshire. The only problem is that the game doesn’t really tell you how to get there.

Lakeshire is hidden between two cliffs just west of Ashenshire or Northwest of Wayshire. Follow our gif to learn how to get there from Wayshire. Lakeshire has its own job board, an Inn, and even one of the two factions you can join. Currently, it’s the final neutral zone in the game.

Don’t Fight Raid Bosses Until You Are Max Level

Mother Spider from Rune Slayer is about to attack the players
Image via Unofficial Rune Slayer Trello

Even though you’ll get Quests for the Dire Bear and Mother Spider pretty early on, you really shouldn’t do these until you hit max level. Before you ask, NO, it’s not because you’ll die in one hit to a boss, but because you won’t even get progress for killing the boss, let alone loot.

In order to get progress for killing a raid boss, you need to do enough damage to it, or heal your teammates enough. If you aren’t max level, you’re gonna have a really hard time achieving this. So save yourself the trouble and get to that max level before you start thinking about taking on these huge monsters. Speaking of that…

Join a Guild

We already mentioned this in our Ultimate Beginner’s Guide, but you really should join a guild. Not only will you have teammates who can help you out, but you’ll also get an easy way to take out the above-mentioned raid bosses. One thing Rune Slayer guilds like to do is server-hop until they find a server with one of the raid bosses. Then, they inform their guildies, and within minutes, they form a party and take out the boss. We’ve seen it, and we’ve done it, and it’s super effective.

Don’t Forget To Slot Runes

A Rune Slayer player is showing an item with a slotted Rune
Screenshot by The Escapist

If your armor pieces have empty rune sockets, you are not fully using them. Don’t just wait for the best armor before you start slotting runes; do it now. The mobs around Lakeshire frequently drop runes, and these can significantly increase your damage and survivability if you slot them correctly.

If, on the other hand, you do have end-game armor, then consider visiting a trade board and looking for Greater Runes. These are extremely rare but extremely powerful, and they can boost several stats. Many guilds have a trade board, but the official Discord channel is also a great place to start trading.

Hodor is Your Friend

NPC Hodor is standing in Rune Slayer
Screenshot by The Escapist

When you visit Bahlgar, climb on top of the hills in the area (it’s easier with a mount) and find the NPC, Hodor. He will have a repeatable quest where you will be tasked with killing a Hill-Troll and looting its head. The Hill troll is in that very same area, and spaws every 3-5 minutes. Looting it’s head, unfortunately, isn’t always guaranteed.

With that said, every time you bring Hodor a Troll head, you’ll get a random reward, and these include epic end-game armor. After turning in the Quest, it takes one hour before you can do it again, so make sure you do. But, in order to take out the Hill Troll, you need to remember the last, AND MOST IMPORTANT TIP, of this guide.

DO. EVERYTHING. IN. A. GROUP

A group of players is farming mobs together in Rune Slayer
Screenshot by The Escapist

We cannot stress this enough. Even though Rune Slayer is solo-friendly during the first two zones, it is absolutely PUNISHINGLY DIFFICULT if you try to do anything alone during the endgame. So, join a guild or a Discord group, say what you need to do, look for other players who need to do the same thing, and start adventuring together. Despite being a brand new Roblox game, Rune Slayer’s endgame is very akin to MMORPGs from the early 90s, where adventuring in a group was your only option. Sometimes, all you really need to progress is to find a group and just grind mobs until you hit that max level.

And there you have it. Enjoy Rune Slayer’s endgame (with friends). If you messed up your abilities, check out our guide on how to reset them. To stay up to date with all Rune Slayer content, check out the unofficial but accurate Trello board.

How to Multiclass in Rune Slayer https://www.escapistmagazine.com/how-to-multiclass-in-rune-slayer/ https://www.escapistmagazine.com/how-to-multiclass-in-rune-slayer/#disqus_thread Fri, 28 Feb 2025 11:16:30 +0000 https://www.escapistmagazine.com/?p=1003780 Even though you pick your class when you first create a character, Rune Slayer gives you the option of adding one or more classes later in the game. Having the ability to multiclass might sound awesome… but is it actually awesome? In this guide, we’ll tell you how to multiclass in Rune Slayer and, more importantly, should you do it.

Rune Slayer Multiclassing Guide

A player stats screen showing the Berserker Subclass
Screenshot by The Escapist

You can multiclass in Rune Slayer when you reach character level 30. Note that we said “character level” and not “class level” because there is a difference (more on that later). When you hit level 30 (and up) and open your character window, you’ll notice a small box in the top right corner that says “Add a Class.” Select this option, and you’ll get another window where you get to pick your new class, similar to how it looked when you first created your character. Pick one of the new classes you wish to add, select “Finish, ” and just like that, you’ll officially start multiclassing.

When you level up again, you’ll now get a choice to add a level to either your main class or your alt class (alt classes) or even to add a new class. This is also the reason why levels don’t get added automatically to your class when you level up (in case you want to pick which class you want your level to go to). Each character level you gain is a point you can use towards one of your classes.

With the current maximum character level being 40, you can be level 29 in your main class and level 11 in one of your other classes (or use those 11 levels for multiple other classes). For the record, you need to get to level 30 in your main class to unlock subclasses like the Berserker.

Should You Multiclass in Rune Slayer?

Rune Slayer Berserker abilities with Holy Light highlighted
Screenshot by The Escapist

This depends on how you want to play Rune Slayer, but generally, we don’t recommend it. On the one hand, if you choose to multiclass, you can wield new weapons, get new abilities, and perhaps even have a different playstyle.

On the other hand, by putting levels into a class different than your main, you are limiting your main class’s potential. This wouldn’t be too much of a problem if stopped gaining new abilities at level 30 for the main class, but that’s not the case.

While there is no definitive answer, it just doesn’t make much sense to multiclass, at least not while the character level cap is 40. When the level cap gets increased, multiclassing will likely make more sense. As of now, we would strongly advise you to stick with just your main class.

That’s all there is to it. Have fun multiclassing (or just sticking with your main class). If you need to change up your playstyle a bit, check out How to Reset Skills in Rune Slayer. If you want to stay up to date with Rune Slayer, check out the unofficial Trello board.

How to Complete the Chunin Exam in Ninja Time https://www.escapistmagazine.com/chunin-exam-guide-in-ninja-time/ https://www.escapistmagazine.com/chunin-exam-guide-in-ninja-time/#disqus_thread Thu, 27 Feb 2025 08:18:40 +0000 https://www.escapistmagazine.com/?p=1002988 Fans of the original Naruto Series are familiar with the Chunin Exam, but what about fresh players of the Roblox new wonder Ninja Time? To become a Chunin and unlock new quests, you must pass the Chunin Exam in the Ninja Time game, available from level 18. Below is a step-by-step guide on how to complete the Chunin Exam in Ninja Time.

Chunin Exam Guide in Ninja Time

Ninja Time is a game packed with quests and exams you must resolve to unlock new abilities and missions. For example, upon completing the Ninja Time Chunin Exam and becoming Chunin, you will unlock Chidori and a string of new exciting quests. You can also familiarize yourself with the entire game by browsing through the Ninja Time Trello Board & Discord. But for now, let’s delve deeper into our Ninja Time Chunin Exam guide by taking it one step at a time.

Step 1: Start The Chunin Exam

To complete the Chunin Exam in Ninja Time, you must talk to Ichikage NPC, who is located in the Leaf Village.

Once you resolve the conversation, take the Chunin Exam, but remember: you must be at least level 18! Let’s take a look at all the questions and answers to the Ninja Time Chunin Exam.

Ninja Time Chunin Exam Questions and Answers (Level 18 Quest)

QuestionAnswer
What are the different ranks in the Ninja System?Genin, Chunin, Junin, and Kage
What is the name of Hero’s Friend?Black Flames
Which legendary Sannin becomes the First Hokage?Luxinn
What is the forbidden technique used by Raven to protect the ninja world?Izanami
Who is known for the Yellow Flash of the Hidden Leaf?Yellow Thunder
What is the name of the demon that attacked the Hidden Leaf Village many years ago?Nine Tails
Which group of ninjas Raven joined after leaving the village?Secret Organization
What are the ultimate goals of Black Flames? To avenge his clan
Who is the Hidden Gas Demon’s best friend?Icy
Which village does Copycat belong to?Hidden Leaf Village

Step 2: Eliminate Weak Ninjas

Right after you finish the written part of the Chunin Exam, you must defeat 20-25 Weak Ninjas. To do so, just follow the quest pointer symbolized by the yellow exclamation mark. The Weak Ninjas have limited moves and damage output, so it won’t be too difficult. After you’ve dealt with the weaker enemies, you might have to fight tougher opponents as well, such as the Sound Brothers.

Step 3: Go to Forty-Fourth Tower

When you have dealt with the Sound Brothers, go straight to the Forty-Fourth Tower. Again, follow the yellow pointer, and when you arrive, open the door and go inside the Tower.

Step 4: Defeat Stone Leo

Inside the Forty-Four Tower, speak with sensei Hayake NPC, and he’ll assign you the task of eliminating Stone Leo.

As you probably know, this is basically a Rock Lee character from the Naruto Universe. Upon defeating Rock Lee, hopefully, you get his gear and then you can go to Kenma.

Step 5: Chunin Exam Endgame

Kenma will give you a task to defeat the White Eyes in the Arena behind. Again, talk to sensei before you start fighting. If you struggle to defeat the last boss of the Chunin Exam in Ninja Time, redeem some codes and then try again but with a better Clan, Family, and Element.

When you take care of White Eyes, the Chunin Exam is completed. You will receive a Chunin Vest as a reward, then visit Ekisu and take on a bevy of new quests.

You have completed our Ninja Time Chunin Exam guide and can freely roam the Ninja Time world while looking for more challenging tasks, well done! Feel free to check our Ninja Time Weapons Tier list and collect them all.

How to Get Better Gear in Rune Slayer https://www.escapistmagazine.com/rune-slayer-how-to-get-better-weapons-armor/ https://www.escapistmagazine.com/rune-slayer-how-to-get-better-weapons-armor/#disqus_thread Tue, 25 Feb 2025 16:26:18 +0000 https://www.escapistmagazine.com/?p=1002354 Fighting monsters, finishing quests, and riding mounts, it’s all there in Rune Slayer, and it’s a lot of fun. But as you progress, you’ll need to face tougher challenges, and to do that, you’ll need two things: a higher character level and better gear. In this guide, we’ll be focusing on the latter. Here’s everything you need to know about getting better weapons and armor in Rune Slayer.

Better Gear Guide in Rune Slayer

There are a couple of ways to get shiny new gear in Rune Slayer:

  • You can loot them off enemies (stronger ones)
  • You can get them as quest rewards

But the most effective way is to craft the gear yourself. While you likely won’t have the best gear with simple crafting, this is ultimately the best way to get stronger in Rune Slayer.

Gathering Tools in Rune Slayer

Before we begin, you’ll need a few of the following tools:

  • Pickaxe
  • Axe
  • Sickle

Depending on your class, you’ll need different materials to craft better gear. For example, Warriors craft better heavy armor using ores like Copper and Iron. Archers use Leather from animals, such as Small Leather or Medium Leather. Magicians and Priests use Cotton or Flax to craft better robes. Additionally, you’ll also need wood for most weapons and armor.

Our advice: Get each of the tools no matter which class you play. Many stronger weapons and armor will need ingredients from all of the sources, so having all tools on standby is great. Worst case scenario, you can sell your excess materials for extra coins, which always comes in handy.

To get all the tools, visit the local blacksmith (see gif above) and buy them. You don’t need to put them in your hotbar. As long as they are somewhere in your inventory, they will work. You should start by buying a Copper Pickaxe, a Copper Axe, and a Copper Sickle, but as you progress, you’ll need stronger tools, and the best way to get them is to simply craft them yourself.

How to Get Crafting Material in Rune Slayer

Once you have the tools, it’s time to gather the materials needed for crafting. Here’s how:

  • Ores – Enter mines, caves, or on top of hills to nodes sticking from the ground
  • Wood – Almost every tree in the game can be chopped down. Just walk up to it and begin
  • Cloth – Look for a plant (looks like three sticks) sticking out of the ground
  • Leather – Kill furry animals (Bears, Wolves, Deer, etc), and you might get it as a loot drop
  • Herbs – Can be in almost everywhere. You don’t need a tool.

Simply walk up to any of the above and press “E” to gather them. If, for some reason,n you can’t, it means you either don’t have the right tool in your inventory or your tool isn’t strong enough (you need an upgraded version).

Crafting New Armor and Weapons in Rune Slayer

Once you have the materials, it’s time to craft. Head back to the Smithy and look for a crafting station inside. Walk up to it and interact. You’ll see all the tools, bags, accessories, armor, and weapons you can currently make. If you have all the materials, the recipe icon will be bright (otherwise, it will be dim). Simply select a recipe, and on the right side, pick “Craft”. The item will be placed in your hotbar or in your inventory. Press TAB to open your character equipment page and drag the item to the correct slot. Congrats, now you are more powerful.

How to Turn Ore into Bars in Rune Slayer

Unlike most other crafting materials, you’ll need to smelt Ore into Bars (for example, Copper Ore into Copper Bar) before you can use it for crafting. You can do this at the forge, which is just on the right of the Smithy (looks like a big oven). Simply interact with the forge and turn all your gathered Ores into Bars. If this is your first time doing it, you’ll unlock a bunch of new recipes.

That’s all there is to it. Have fun crafting better gear in Rune Slayer. If you need more help, check out our Ultimate Beginner’s Guide to Rune Slayer, and if you still don’t have a Spider Pet, check out our guide on how to get one.

How to Tame a Spider in Rune Slayer? https://www.escapistmagazine.com/how-to-tame-a-spider-in-rune-slayer/ https://www.escapistmagazine.com/how-to-tame-a-spider-in-rune-slayer/#disqus_thread Tue, 25 Feb 2025 13:45:20 +0000 https://www.escapistmagazine.com/?p=1002302 Rune Slayer lets you tame and ride your pets. Sure, taming a Wolf and riding on its back is pretty sick, but if you want to take things to the next level, you’re gonna need an arachnid. Fortunately, they aren’t too difficult to get, and with a little effort, you can become a proud owner of an eight-legged NOPE. Here’s how to tame a spider in Rune Slayer.

Rune Slayer: How to Tame a Spider

To tame a Spider in Rune Slayer, you need Mandrake Root. You likely already know this, but you can get the roots from the farming fields in Wayshire. Simply walk over to one that’s sticking out of the ground, pull it out, fight it, and claim it. We recommend you bring a couple of them, just in case (we brought seven, but five of them will do).

How to Become a Spider Rider in Rune Slayer

Before you tame a spider, you should be at least level 20. While there isn’t a level requirement, we recommend you be strong enough to withstand all the enemies along the way, including the spiders, in case you fail to tame them.

With Mandrakes in your inventory, it’s time to tame a spider; there are a bunch of them in the Spider Cave. Here’s how to get there:

  • From Wayshire, head north and tilt slightly to the Northeast until you reach Greatwood Forest
  • Once you’re inGreatwood Forest, head East
  • You should pass a Cobra and an annoying bird enemy along the way (kill them if they are giving you trouble)
  • East from the bird enemy is the Spider Cave (there are spider webs inside, so you’ll know you’re in the right place)

  • Find a Spider and hit it once
  • Pull out a Mandrake Root, and a Heart will appear on top of the Spider’s Head
  • Wait until the heart finishes growing
    • If the Spider plops to the ground, congratulations, you’ve tamed it
    • If the heart turns black, you’ve failed to tame the spider (don’t worry, it happens). Kill it, find another one, and repeat

It may take a few attempt,s but before too long, you should be the proud owner of a Spider. They look cool and hit hard in battles but have somewhat low HP.

That’s all there is to it. If you need more help, check out our Class Tier list and The Ultimate Beginner’s Guide in Rune Slayer.
